Coach’s Corner

Tonight there was a sad but special Canadian moment. Tonight the CBC home of Don Cherry and The Beachcombers presented the Gemini Awards. Now the Geminis are the Canadian equal to…… well I’m sure there must be something.
The show was hosted by that Canadians left wing nutcase George Stroumboulopoulos. It went on nasium for a tad over sixty minutes, with the big winner being Corner Gas.
I am as proud as punch to be a Canadian, but this show was sad sad sad.
The only thing missing was a writing credit to Wayne & Shuster.
The highlight of the evening was when the “Peoples” choice award went to Howie Mandell who hasn’t seen the inside of Canada since he last did the Canadian version of Deal or No Deal.
Nothing says Canada like being able to honor Canada’s best in sixty minutes
In typical CBC style it was followed by a RERUN of that Canadian nail biter The Dragons.
Kudos however do go out to those who showed class by wearing a poppy.

Just to be fair to Howie Mandel, he preformed to a sell-out audience at the RiverCree Casino on the Enoch Reserve, last month. Oct 31st he was at Casino Rama, Ontario.
He also owns a home in Ontario which he visits often.
