........And the First Star

Today one of the greatest hockey players to have ever laced up skates, passed away Bernie "Boom Boom" Geoffrion.
Mr.Bernard Geoffrion past away in Atlanta after a battle with stomach cancer. He was seventy-five
He was the self proclaimed inventor of the slapshot, and from all accounts a gentleman’s gentleman. He wore number five and tonight his jersey was retired at a touching ceremony at The Bell Centre. What made it especially touching is that had plans to attend the ceremony tonight with his two sons.
Believing as I do I think “he was there”, enjoying as he should the honors due to him.
