Sunday, March 23

A salesman breaks down in a remote country lane, a farmer in the adjacent field comes over and they discover that they are "Brothers".

The salesman is concerned as he has an important appointment in the local town: "Don't worry says the farmer you can use my car, I will call a friend and get the car repaired while you go to the appointment."

Off goes the salesman and a couple of hours later he returns but unfortunately the car is awaiting a part which won't arrive until the next morning. "It's not a problem," says the Farmer, "use my telephone and re-schedule your first appointment tomorrow, stay with us tonight and I'll see that the car is done first thing!"

The farmers' wife prepares a wonderful meal and they share a glass of fine single malt during an excellent evening, the salesman sleeps soundly and when he awakes there is his car, repaired and ready to go.

After a full English breakfast the salesman thanks them both for the hospitality. As he and the farmer walk to his car he turns and asks "my brother, thank you so much but I have to ask, did you help me because I am a Mason?"

"No" was the reply, "I helped you because I am a Mason"

What’s for Supper ??

Yesterday was the third day of spring although you wouldn’t know it by the tempts, they were more winter-like.
The day started like usual a good hot coffee, bacon & eggs, and fresh fruit. Then I woke up. Hehehehe.
Last night I was invited to supper at Rolanda and Gords, I arrived at their place @ #28 Dairy Queen St. in Chateauguay, where there is more ice then the Bell Centre, but Gord spread at least two bags of Sifto so that helped alot !!
We started off with cheese & crackers (with chocolate brie for Easter of course) the tea was hot & plentiful as well.
We had a great main course (you guess by the pic what it was)
We also watched the DVD, Lord of the Dance, which was wonderful till Rolanda started to dance along, and sing as well….oh boy.
As a bachelor whos best friend is Stoffers a home cooked meal RULES !!! thanks again guys.
Ok ,ok, the pic is Meatloaf.

A Tad Late for St. Pats Day But…..

Two men were sitting next to each other at Murphy's Pub. After awhile, one guy looks at the other and says, 'I can't help but think, from listening to you, that you're from Ireland .'
The other guy responds proudly, 'Yes, that I am!' The first guy says, 'So am I! And where about from Ireland might you be?'
The other guy answers, 'I'm from Dublin , I am.'
The first guy responds, 'So am I!'
'Mother Mary and begora. And what street did you live on in Dublin ?'
The other guy says, 'A lovely little area it was. I lived on McCleary Street in the old central part of town.'
The first guy says, 'Faith and it's a small world. So did I! So did I! And to what school would you have been going?'
The other guy answers, 'Well now, I went to St. Mary's, of course.'
The first guy gets really excited and says, 'And so did I. Tell me, what year did you graduate?'
The other guy answers, 'Well, now, let's see. I graduated in 1964.'
The first guy exclaims, 'The Good Lord must be smiling down upon us! I can hardly believe our good luck at winding up in the same bar tonight. Can you believe it, I graduated from St. Mary's in 1964 my own self!'
About this time, Vicky walks into the bar, sits down and orders a beer.
Brian, the bartender, walks over to Vicky, shaking his head and mutters, 'It's going to be a long night tonight.'
Vicky asks, 'Why do you say that, Brian?'
'The Murphy twins are drunk again.'

Now That, was a Storm !!!

Today was a challenge. During Saturday /Saturday night the Montreal area received over 30 cms of snow.

This morning I saw that I would have to shovel my car if I was to move.

Just after twelve I dressed in layers and headed to do the deed. When I got to the car I realized that the snow was hood high and about two feet from the front. I slowly started to shovel bit by bit shovel full by shovel full I made progress. Then a fellow apartment dweller offered to help. After he left I attempted to get out. More shoveling required. Then a stranger came over and pushed me out.

In the photo you can almost see my car.

Thank God for the kindness of others.

Love

Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a
hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who
was suffering from a rare & serious disease. Her only
chance of recovery appeared to be a blood
transfusion from her 6-year old brother, who had
miraculously survived the same disease and had
developed the antibodies needed to combat the
illness. After the doctor explained the situation to her parents,
he asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister.

I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a
deep breath and saying, "Yes I'll do it if it will save
her." As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed
next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing
the color returning to her cheek. Then his face
grew pale and his smile faded.

He looked up at the doctor and asked with a
trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away".

Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the
doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his
sister all of his blood in order to save her.
